Our mission is to document our local music scene, celebrate it with you, and help connect the people who make it thrive. To celebrate, preserve, and document the people, places, performances, and stories that make Southern California’s music scene unforgettable.
Southern California has one of the most vibrant music communities in the world. Every weekend, thousands of talented musicians perform in clubs, theaters, festivals, casinos, restaurants, and local venues throughout the region. Yet many of the artists, bands, venues, and industry professionals who keep the scene alive rarely receive the recognition, or compensation, they deserve. SoCal Music Scene Magazine was created to change that.
Who We Are
SoCal Music Scene Magazine is an independent publication dedicated to celebrating the musicians, bands, venues, events, and personalities that make Southern California’s music scene unique. We cover both emerging and established artists, spotlight local success stories, and share the stories behind the people creating the soundtrack of our communities.
We’re NOT positioning ourselves as an “authority” over the music scene. We’re positioning the magazine as a storyteller of the music scene. An honest reporter. Big stories of national acts along with local original and cover bands. All other supporters and workers in the scene such as sound techs, venues, club owner, music gear retailers, custom stage apparel designers, set builders, managers, booking agents, audience attendees, lovers of live music performance, etc. We champion both the star and the underdog alike, and also everyone who contributes to the scene in their own special way.
What We Believe

- We believe communities grow stronger when artists are supported and celebrated.
- Most importantly, we believe authentic storytelling creates meaningful connections between performers and audiences.
What Makes Us Different
In an era where many media outlets are owned by large corporations and driven by advertising metrics, SoCal Music Scene Magazine remains independently owned and operated. That independence matters. It allows us to focus on the stories we believe deserve attention rather than the stories an algorithm tells us will generate clicks. Or who media mogul corporate strategists decide which manufactured stars will be popular this month in order to satisfy bogus share holder earning projections… or what the various world power alphabet agencies say we can or cannot discuss.
Our goal is simple: provide honest, respectful, and meaningful coverage of the Southern California music community. We are not interested in sensationalism, manufactured controversy, corporate or political agendas, or chasing headlines of any kind. Instead, we focus on the people behind the music: the artists, venues, promoters, sound engineers, educators, and fans who contribute to the culture and character of our local music scene.
